The synagogue has a lively Book Club, which has been meeting for a number of years. The members put forward books for reading once a year and a vote establishes the six books to be read and discussed at our meetings every two months in the following year.
Although the books are expected to have a Jewish theme, or author they can range very widely, and will often go from non-fiction or biography to literary or lighter fiction and short stories. The choices can be surprising and frequently serve to introduce members to authors or styles that they are not familiar with.
